Eight launched a viral campaign for Perfect C Breast Enhancer [...]

Eight launched a viral campaign for Perfect C Breast Enhancer that has to date accumulated over three million views and become the topic du jour on the web.

The video features a young lady, ditched because of her inadequate breasts, taunting the offending ex-boyfriend after boosting up with Perfect C Breast Enhancer.

“By creating a story around the product, we added the extra twist that made it a true winner, compared to the typical advertisements in this category which merely feature celebrities and models. The story was crucial in attracting viewers, leaving a lasting impression as well as generating further discussion,” said Eight’s Creative Partner Chris Kyme.

The viral has attracted one million viewers on Tudou (before being taken down by the site just 48 hours later). It has also reached over 1,050,000 views on YouTube and 600,000 views on 56.com, while generating wide press coverage and some heated debate.

Jeanne Zhao-Clot, from
Perfect C Breast Enhancer, is delighted. “This viral campaign is really incredible. I have never seen several million clicks on an ad! Our website has seen an significant increase in traffic and we have received more enquiries on the product.” The viral can be found by typing “C Cup Hong Kong Girl” in YouTube, and the product is on sale in selected beauty and wellness shops around Hong Kong.

To promote ten years of strength by the Tracker Fund [...]

To promote ten years of strength by the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (TraHK), brand company Eight Partnership has built a campaign that connects the fund to the vibrancy of the city itself.

The campaign emphasizes the stability and endurance that has characterized the fund by drawing on the imagery of Hong Kong’s iconic skyscrapers.

Since its launch in 1999, TraHK has kept a relatively low advertising profile but wanted to promote its robust connection with Hong Kong as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. State Street Bank and Trust Company, as trustee of TraHK, turned to Eight for a campaign that would convey the long-term stability of the fund.

“For this campaign we knew that the key was to focus on the direct link between TraHK and the city itself. We built our work around the idea that TraHK is as strong as Hong Kong – reflecting the fund’s stability and steady growth over the long term,” explains Melanie Osborne, Digital Business Director at Eight.

Ads from the campaign launched online, in print and in MTR stations around the city beginning in November.

For the launch of The PuLi Hotel and Spa in [...]

For the launch of The PuLi Hotel and Spa in Shanghai, brand company Eight Partnership created a launch campaign, website and collateral that put the focus on The PuLi’s unique blend of traditional Chinese culture and contemporary design.

Art is at the centre of the campaign as the new hotel was built from the ground up with an eye to creating a refined experience that blends China’s rich cultural traditions with the latest technology and highest quality service. Eight’s work drew on this inspiration to create visuals that capture the beauty of The PuLi’s art and presented it with a clean, modern look.

“Everything in the hotel was carefully chosen and put together with passion. We wanted to bring this out in our work by presenting the hotel as art – putting the focus on the beautifully displayed artifacts found within the hotel,” explains Charles Brian-Boys, Partner at Eight.

From the massive 32-metre Long Bar made from African teak wood, to the latest in lighting technology to keep with the brand’s environmentally conscious views, The PuLi has established itself as a completely new hotel experience for guests with discerning taste in design. Since opening, it has bucked the trend of low occupancy that has affected other luxury hotels in Shanghai – testament to the appeal it has in the market.

“From the outset we designed The PuLi to be a markedly different experience for our guests. The key idea was to create a seamless experience that melded the old and new with unparalleled service and facilities. Eight immediately understood our brand and created a campaign and collateral that perfectly matched who we are,” says Markus Engel, Director of Urban Resort Concepts (URC), the hotel management company of The PuLi Hotel and Spa.

Eight Partnership has been named the number two branding agency [...]

Eight Partnership has been named the number two branding agency by Marketing magazine in its Agency of the Year 2009 awards.

This marks a solid climb up the rankings for Eight, which came in at eighth place (no pun intended) last year.

As an integrated agency, branding is just one of the specialist practices within Eight – along with custom media, digital, design and advertising – and the award reflects the growing depth and maturity of Eight’s brand strategy, design and development team.

Marketing cited Eight’s growth in China – where the company operates out of Beijing and Shanghai – as a significant factor in the company’s rise in the rankings. Several recent high-profile brand launches for The Mira in Hong Kong and The PuLi in Shanghai, plus a number of digital branding assignments for blue-chip clients, have also drawn attention to Eight’s work.

Marketing names the winners based on feedback from more than 950+ independent marketing professionals who are asked to name their top three preferred agencies.

“We’re very pleased to have been ranked shoulder-to-shoulder with our international peers,” says Chris Fjelddahl, partner at Eight. “We’ve worked very hard to raise the depth and quality of our branding practice while building scale across the region. Clients are responding very positively, with most assignments now initiated at senior levels by the CEOs and their executive management teams.”

Updating an ad campaign it first crafted and launched in [...]

Updating an ad campaign it first crafted and launched in 2005, brand company Eight Partnership has released a second-generation campaign to continue building awareness about breast cancer.

The original campaign, featuring ads with a woman’s torso and two fire alarm bells, was one of the most successful campaigns ever for the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and they again turned to Eight to reprise the idea.

“The original ad was striking and memorable because it was unlike anything else that had been done previously,” says Chris Kyme, Creative Director for Eight. “We wanted to stick with this idea while refreshing it to once again grab people’s attention on the streets.”

Eight evolved the campaign while keeping to the core idea that women’s bodies do not come with a built-in alarm system. The new ad features a bra made out of two alarm bells, encouraging women to check regularly for signs of breast cancer.

“It is vitally important for women to perform regular self-checks and with the great success of their previous campaign, it was natural for us to turn to Eight. Though some might find the ads a bit shocking, it is exactly that sort of attention that we need in order to spread our message to the women of Hong Kong to alert them to the importance of early detection,” says Sally Lo, Chairman of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.

The ads will appear in print and online beginning in October.

or the launch of The Mira Hong Kong, brand company [...]

or the launch of The Mira Hong Kong, brand company Eight Partnership created a new strategy, design and creative campaign that captures the uplifting feeling of The Mira Hong Kong’s new property and customer experience.

Slated to appear in magazines, airline cabins and on billboards internationally, the campaign entices travellers with ads that literally raise eyebrows. When redesigning their interior, The Mira Hong Kong paid particular attention to the refinements that would buoy guests’ emotions, leaving them relaxed and refreshed. Particular focus was paid to enticing all five senses and Eight’s strategy and campaign conveys this through simple, yet emotionally evocative images. The campaign comprises the design of hotel collaterals and advertising for print, online and outdoor.

“We’re delighted to play a part in the launch of what is a great new hotel. We have been working on the design and execution of the strategy for the best part of a year, and it’s great to see our creative thinking now come to fruition,” said Chris Kyme, Creative Director at Eight.

The Mira Hong Kong has positioned itself as a unique, contemporary hotel perfect for those who seek out stylish living.

Dirk Dalichau, General Manager of The Mira Hong Kong, believes that the hotel serves as a fresh, upscale, urban hospitality concept designed for the young-at-heart business and leisure traveller. “We appeal to individuals who appreciate cutting-edge, contemporary design and stylish, high-tech, interiors, offset by our signature highly personalised, intuitive service. At The Mira Hong Kong, we aim to make our guests feel at ease and connected to the city whenever they visit.”

In an effort to drum up interest and participation in [...]

In an effort to drum up interest and participation in the Matilda Hospital Sedan Chair Race & Bazaar, brand company Eight Partnership has created a campaign based around this year’s “Fairy Tales” event theme.

Using illustrations and font styles that would be found in traditional fairy tale books, the campaign’s ads bring out the fun side of the event, which encourages participants to dress up in costume for the race and bazaar.

“The theme of this year gave us a great excuse to go all the way and create a campaign which also participates in the idea,” explains Chris Kyme, Creative Director for Eight. “Grace Leung created a wonderful illustration which gets into the spirit of it all, and Iain Richardson, our head of design, did the rest with some lovely typography. We hope it will encourage even more participation in what is a very successful and worthwhile event.”

The ads will appear around the city in malls, bus stops and print publications. Eight also created an advertorial e-card to support the campaign and help spread the word ahead of the event on November 15. All proceeds from the event will be used to support various charities around Hong Kong.

“Eight has helped us craft a message that brings out the fun and excitement of this year’s ‘Fairy Tales’ theme,” says Elizabeth Lee, Project Director of the Sedan Chair Charities Fund. “We hope the event will unite everyone in our community to raise more money and help those in need live happily ever after.”
