Eight Partnership has been named the number two branding agency by Marketing magazine in its Agency of the Year 2009 awards.
This marks a solid climb up the rankings for Eight, which came in at eighth place (no pun intended) last year.
As an integrated agency, branding is just one of the specialist practices within Eight - along with custom media, digital, design and advertising - and the award reflects the growing depth and maturity of Eight's brand strategy, design and development team.
Marketing cited Eight's growth in China - where the company operates out of Beijing and Shanghai - as a significant factor in the company's rise in the rankings. Several recent high-profile brand launches for The Mira in Hong Kong and The PuLi in Shanghai, plus a number of digital branding assignments for blue-chip clients, have also drawn attention to Eight's work.
Marketing names the winners based on feedback from more than 950+ independent marketing professionals who are asked to name their top three preferred agencies.
"We're very pleased to have been ranked shoulder-to-shoulder with our international peers," says Chris Fjelddahl, partner at Eight. "We've worked very hard to raise the depth and quality of our branding practice while building scale across the region. Clients are responding very positively, with most assignments now initiated at senior levels by the CEOs and their executive management teams."
