Recognition for the Alpine Destination Brand Created by Eight
Hong Kong, 4 Nov 2025 – Global branding and design firm Eight Partnership announces Odin Hills, a residential brand it conceived and developed, has been awarded Robb Report’s Best of the Best 2026: Travel, Experiences & Hospitality.
Recognised within the Alpine Adventures category, Odin Hills received the Sophisticated Mountain Residences in Niseko award. For over 30 years, the Robb Report Best of the Best recognition has stood as a benchmark in global luxury, and in the 2026 edition, Odin Hills was selected by the publication’s international editors, industry leaders, and independent experts from a list of over 380 nominations.
Eight developed the vision for Odin Hills as a unique residential destination driven by a philosophy of “intelligent luxury,” and this principle has informed the project’s every facet, from its brand identity and nature-centred design language to architectural collaborations with world-renowned architects such as Pritzker Prize winner Shigeru Ban and Keiji Ashizawa. Through this integrated approach, Eight articulated a brand strategy that connects design, community, and lifestyle into a seamless expression of modern alpine living.
“From the very beginning, Odin Hills was designed to become a residential haven for a community who live and breathe the exclusive Alpine lifestyle,” said Odin co-founder Nicolas Gontard. “We wanted to create a place inspired by the storied villages of St Moritz and Gstaad but fully rooted in Japanese culture and aesthetics. Not only did we see our vision come alive, it is a proud moment to also see its impact recognised by Robb Report.”
Set across 16 hectares between Mount Yotei and Hanazono ski slopes, minutes from the ski lifts and upcoming Kutchan Shinkansen station, Odin Hills lies at the forefront of Niseko’s evolution as Asia’s alpine capital. Residents enjoy direct access to world-renowned slopes year-round, while the Odin Hills Clubhouse presents a hub of wellness and social connections. Guided by careful design standards, full-service management, and bespoke concierge support, Odin Hills represents a forward vision of integrated mountain living.
About Odin Hills
Odin is a highly design-driven property brand devoted to “intelligent luxury,” a philosophy
which focuses on the quality of the experience rather than the badge value of a product. Odin strives to bring significant value-add to their projects through innovative concepts, people-centric architecture, contemporary interior design and relevant product extensions including award-winning furniture.
Founded in 2007 by Bjorn Fjelddahl, Chris Fjelddahl and Nicolas Gontard, Odin pioneered the luxury real estate market in Niseko, Japan. The innovative brand has grown from its first luxury residence setting record prices for Hokkaido, to a portfolio of residential, retail (attracting brands such as Moncler and Burton) and hotel projects, as well as a number of dining and entertainment venues.
