Eight is looking for qualified data visualization and infographics designers to work on the presentation and delivery of financial research information. The goal is to tell stories with data.

We are looking for bright minds able to combine a numbers brain, with a sure esthetic eye. The job entails turning data into crisp and compelling charts, graphs and information graphics ready to be delivered across multiple media platforms: in print, and on web and mobile screens. The ideal candidate will have solid graphic design expertise and talent, combined with a geeky interest in data and display mechanics.

We are prepared to consider full-time positions (Hong Kong based) or to establish freelancer relationships with talented people worldwide regardless of location. Please include links to samples of your work in your resume or cover letter.

We ask of you:

• 3-5 years experience working on data visualization projects with a portfolio to show
• An understanding of relevant data visualization tools (experience with R or Processing is a plus)
• Past experience with financial data is ideal, but can also be other metrics-driven industries (market research, etc)
• Be detailed, precise and fast, as well as a highly collaborative team player able to work well with colleagues and clients
• Comfortable communicating in English, both spoken and written

Eight is looking for junior production designers and layout artists to work on magazines and publications for our multinational brand clients. Openings are available for both freelancers and full-timers. You’ll work closely with our Design Manager to ensure publications are ready to go to print on time.

We ask of you:

• Minimum 2 years working experience in a studio/production environment
• An ability to take full print artworks to final art stage on Mac platform (Adobe CS4)
• Be detailed, precise and fast.
• Some English language would help, but not 100% required.
• Some web design skills would also help, but not 100% required.

You’ll work closely together with our Digital Producer and Director to design and develop groundbreaking and innovative digital content. We are looking for like-minded candidates with initiative, critical thinking skills and out-of-the-box ideas.

We ask of you:

• Minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar role.
• Interaction design and concept development for sites / apps
• Strong flash skills. Ability to turn around banners quickly. Actionscript skills a plus
• CSS / HTML / Jquery coding for small / medium size websites
• Knowledge of WordPress / Drupal a plus
• Excellent English communication skills (Cantonese a plus but not mandatory)
